PRAKRUTHI is a people's voluntary organization that began in 1982 in the midst of rural Karnataka. We have toiled tirelessly for more than four decades, empowering rural people, particularly of the Kolar District, to meet their most critical requirements — from rainfed agriculture and water harvesting to women's empowerment and livelihood. We started our journey in Seegenahalli, a small village, with a simple belief: change really occurs when people are empowered to drive it themselves. Today, PRAKRUTHI impacts over 10,000 families in 156 villages, enabled by a passionate team, inspiring leadership, and solid partnerships with national and global institutions. We are acknowledged by Niti Aayog, registered under the Karnataka Societies Act, and our activities are supported by large partners like the World Bank, European Union, NABARD, DANIDA, and the Government of Karnataka.
